NICHOLAS HO XD... (THE PRIDE AND THE PREJUDICE)♠

1) Pride

What is pride? Pride refers to a strong sense of self-respect, a refusal to be humiliated as well as joy in the accomplishments of oneself or a person, group, or object that one identifies with. For example, there was once whereby my cousin’s dog was injuried very badly and blood was gushing out of its leg without a split second of stopping. With this, my whole family blamed me for injuring the dog. My heart felt as if it was pierced by a series of sharp and gleaming knives. Each person has his or her own pride, but mine seemed to be tarnished and it tumbled to the ground, without leaving any clue of it behind...

2) Prejudice

Prejudice generally refers to existing biases, whereby people unfairly show unwarranted favor towards others. In our everyday life, prejudice could be seen. Nothing would go your way while you are working outside, in the tough job world. No praises for you even if you did something right. There may be chances for others to get them. That is what i call prejudice. Favours are offered to others instead of presenting them to you. Nevertheless, prejudice is an unwanted habit of mind, we should not practice it.

3)Anger

Anger is a physiological and psychological response to a perceived threat to self or important others, present, past, or future. Being bad-tempered is also a choice for anger.
Like me, there are still many people in each and every corner of this world who is bad-tempered. There are minor things which will attract your attention and if that is not up to your standard, you will begin to find anger surging up your body, passing through each and every blood vessel, with blood filling up each available space. When this happens, you should try and take a deep breath to control the amount of anger in you. Sometimes, listening to relaxing music may also work wonders…

4) Hurt

Hurt is basically a depressed feeling. It can also mean that one feel grieved or offended by the things that were done by the other party. From real life experiences, I was hurt for a few times. Being hurt can also be linked to your pride. If you get hurt one day, you will feel as if you do not have your own pride. That is when your pride is tarnished. Relating to the first point above, I was hurt from the blame that was acting on me. I was incriminated for the dog’s injuries. That really hurt me deeply in my heart. It shattered into uncountable pieces and nothing could be done to savage the situation. In addition, there was nothing left for the name of pride. To conclude this, both hurt and pride are linked together. So don’t hurt your own pride!
