HURT
Looking at the dusty little frame that contained grandmother's photo, I was devastated. Failing to contain my emotions, I felt my eyes clouding over. Within seconds, tears started streaming down my pimply face. Despite trying to suppress my tears, it just wouldn't cease. Painful memories of grandmother's death flashed vividly across my mind. The screeching of tires, the alarmed expression on grandmother's face, grandmother being flung into the air and her landing on the road, with blood spattered all over her shirt and trousers. At that moment, I was severely traumatised by the gruesome sight. "Grandmother is a kind-hearted person. She does not deserve to die such a horrible death," I blurted out loud unknowingly. I clasped the frame close to my heart and murmured,"Poor and pitiful grandmother." With that, I shook my head sadly and released an audible sigh.
ANGER
"Why did you lie to me?" Hanyuan questioned angrily, his eyes flashing with anger and resentment."I literally have no intention to...to keep you in the dark," I stammered, my face crumpling with fear and misery. Hanyuan exploded,"How can you do this to me? You, Guoming, Weihong and I vow before that we will never betray one another despite any circumstances." By that time, Hanyuan's hands were shaking uncontrollably and his face turned an ominous red. "There is a price to pay for your mistake. In this case, you shall pay it with your life," Hanyuan snarled. With that, he lifted a gun out of his jean's pocket and pressed it hard on my forehead, inflicting an excruciating pain on me. An evil smile crept across Hanyuan's face as he pulled the trigger back.
PRIDE
"How much did you score for your test?" my best friend, Sierra, asked. Looking at her with my squinting eyes, I shrugged. "What do you think?" I questioned, my eyes tinkling with mischief. "Hey, come on, don't keep me in suspense," she pleaded. "Full marks," I admitted. Sierra gasped out loud. "Wow! You are a genius!" she finally said. Immediately, Sierra went around to tell others about it. In no time, everyone surrounded me to view my paper. They were all impressed with my excellent result. Trying to be modest, I told them in an off-hand manner," Oh, it's not really a big deal." However, my effort in trying to be modest did not last long. Soon, I began bragging about it in a smug manner with a voice that was oozing with pride.
PREJUDICE
The moment I stepped into the classroom, everyone ceased their conversations. As I trudged towards my table, a boy whom I was unfamiliar with, extended his long and lean legs across the aisle, obviously trying to obstruct my path. I tried to get past his legs, but to no avail. Fortunately, a teacher came in and the boy had no choice but to let me walked by. As I did, he shot me a disgusted look. Once I got settled down, my thoughts instantly drifted off to the chain of events happening. Questions flooded my mind. I could not understand why all my classmates detested me so much. Ever since the first day of school, they treated me like dirt and played nasty pranks on me. They seemed to be prejudiced against me. In the later part of the day, a prank was played on me...again."All these must stop," I muttered under my breath, unable to tolerate the pranks anymore. As the bell went off for the day, I made my way towards the principal's office.
